Our full-time natural area management professionals are trained in the most current restoration techniques to create customized site maintenance and monitoring strategies. We successfully:
- Install native plant seed, plug, and bare-root plant materials, including burlapped, bare-root and containerized native trees and shrubs
- Install bioengineering and erosion control materials for shoreline, streambank, and slope stabilization
- Control exotic plant species through mechanical cutting, mowing, hand pulling, and herbicide treatment by licensed professionals
- Conduct prescribed burn services, including permitting, planning, execution, and documentation by our certified and trained staff (NWCG standards)
- Maintain native landscapes, including mulch application, irrigation, mowing, weed control, and brush removal
To ensure our clients receive the highest quality service and technical expertise, out team members receive continuing education on the latest and most innovative techniques, and they draw upon our experience from proven management practices. Our ecologists work with contractors, municipalities, developers, utilities, and other landowners. Our GPS/GIS capabilities provide the most accurate and technologically up-to-date information to our clients. Cardno has mobilization centers in Walkerton, Indiana; Indianapolis; Chicago; Madison, Wisconsin; and Grand Haven, Michigan. Cardno is certified and licensed to perform herbicide applications in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
